We’ve set up a new colourama (photo backdrop) in our home studio in the loft and for the first time in a long time I asked T to take some silly snaps of me… I’ve been working on my holiday gift guides and I’ve put together a list of some of my favourite beauty buys and I wanted some fun photos to show them off!
First up are these amazing technicolour violet sunglasses by Kirk & Kirk, who have been making glasses in London since 1919. They have a wonderful history that includes being the first company to deliver by courier motorbike, and are sure to impress and delight even your pickiest hipster friend.
Next are the deluxe lippies I’m wearing here in all 4 photos by Beauty BLVD. They come in a set of 2 that you can select yourself, The Mattitude Liquid Lip in Tansy is a vibrant coral is a matte liquid lipstick that lasts for hours and the Diamond Lip Gloss in Adorn is a nude that has just the right amount of sparkle. This is an inexpensive but impressive gift for the young and trendy beauty lover on your list.
For the busy, incredible mum on your list you can’t go wrong with the Bare Minerals Be Firm & Be Bright Mask Duo… This a superhero product that targets some of the biggest obstacles to feeling light and radiant. It’s two rich and nourishing products in one from a trusted and well loved beauty brand that works for all skin types. If you read the blog regularly you know I’m a huge Bare Minerals fan. This is one gift that you can’t go wrong with!
We all have that one friend who is both beauty obsessed and insists on traceable, natural ingredients. The Fushi Heavenly Rose and Jasmine Gift set is a lovely generous gift for that person on your list. The Body Wash and Body Lotion come in glass jars with reusable pumps which instantly delighted me (I love an old fashioned glass bottle) as do the Body Oil and the luxury Facial Oil. All the products are hand pressed and handmade in London so this makes it a great choice for an overseas visitor as well as your most woke beauty buff friend.
A few years ago when I was pregnant with Wilde I asked for a 6 month Birchbox subscription. I loved having a little box of treats to try every month and I managed to put away plenty of little luxuries both trial size and full size to put in my hospital bag for Wilde’s birth and my subsequent hospital stay. They’re also the best size for the frequent flyer in your life who is off to short haul destinations with only a small carry-on bag. Best of all is the price, at just £10 a box you really can’t lose. The December boxes even have 2 extra goodies in them bringing the total to 7 products! I’m absolutely in love with my Nutcracker and The Four Realms November box, so is V unfortunately… I have a feeling she’ll have worn me down by January and it’ll be holding her pencils at school. She’s not getting my new Manna Kadar Diamond Dust Rollerball though, that baby is allllllll mine!
Finally, for the beauty lover on your list who seems to have everything I suggest a Discovery Box from KBeauty brand Seoulista. I tried the Be Brightened and Enlightened box and I absolutely loved it! This was my first experience with a KBeauty brand and I found it super fun! I loved that there was a mani and pedi set in addition to the facial. To be honest these are things that I always mean to do but never quite manage to get to the spa for. Plus, I kind of like being able to relax and do these treatments at home because places that are too quiet sometimes stress me out. These cute boxes are super effective and fun and also come in: Hydrated and Elated, Calm and Collected & Detoxed and Amplified.
Let me know in the comments if you have any other suggestions for great gift sets?
