Ever since the #nomakeupselfie craze swept the Internet a couple of years ago I’ve been obsessed with finding the right products to get my skin into the right shape to go bare. I’ve been wearing full coverage foundation since I was 18 and in the last 5 years I’ve added luminizing primers to the mix. This is fine when you’re under 25 if you’re into the whole poreless vibe but at my age (38!) I think unnecessary coverage just makes a person look older. My first step has been a strict moisturising routine. I cleanse with micellar water and then apply Korres Castanea Arcadia Day Cream and Eye Cream in the morning and at night I repeat this process but use Castanea Arcadia Night Cream. I’ve been using these creams for a month now and I really notice a difference in my complexion. My skin feels firmer, plumper, hydrated and youthful. I honestly love these products so much and I think that they are an extremely reasonable price for such an advanced formula and great results. I got mine from ultra-chic chemists John Bell and Croyden.
I’m still a bit self conscious about the flushing my medical condition causes so I’m not quite ready to go totally bare faced yet. I got a sample in the post of the new bareMinerals Complexion Rescue Tinted Gel Cream, which is meant to be a CC and BB cream rolled into one. I used only a tiny amount of the product and applied it with my fingers and you can see the results above. It balanced my skin tone beautifully and naturally and it stayed on all day! I usually find myself reapplying other (more expensive) products at least twice a day but this barely needed a touch up. This is definitely something I’ll be added to my makeup kit ASAP. The look is natural yet flawless. My only disappointment is that the sample sachet is empty! As a person constantly in search of the perfect base I have to say this deserves 10/10.
What do you think of my natural look (and goofy mug)?
